Southport 3 AFC Telford 0

Saturday 23rd January 2010, 9:18PM GMT.

Bucks logoThree second half goals condemned AFC Telford United to a third consecutive Blue Square North defeat away at high-flying Southport.

A much-improved first half display saw the Bucks compete well with the promotion-chasing Sandgrounders, and they missed a golden chance to go in front as Andy Brown’s penalty was saved.

But the second half was a more disappointing affair, as the hosts took charge. Winger Matty McGinn opened the scoring on 49 minutes and added a second 12 minutes from time.

Chris Simm bagged the third in the final minute as Telford were caught on the break while trying to get back into the game.
