courtroom hammerFour Liverpool men who burgled a Shropshire woman’s home and stole her car moments after meeting her on a night out in Shrewsbu- ry were today behind bars.

A judge told Stephen Blackmore, James Gbadago and brothers Lee and Sean Marr they “used and abused” their victim, who cannot be named, after travelling to the town “looking for girls” on July 18 last year.

At Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday, Judge Robin Onions heard one of the gang pinched keys from the woman’s handbag as part of what he called a “callous” ploy to burgle her.

Blackmore, 19, who admitted burglary, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and theft, was given 25 months’ detention and training at a young offenders’ institution.

Gbadago, 20, admitted burglary and vehicle taking, and was given 22 months’ training and detention.

Lee Marr, 21, who admitted burglary, vehicle taking and a separate burglary, was jailed for a total of 30 mont- hs. Sean Marr, 23, who admi- tted burglary, vehicle taking and a separate charge of da- ngerous driving, was jailed for a total of 28 months.

Jo Barker, prosecuting, said Blackmore stole keys and personal details from the victim’s handbag in Frankwell car park, enab- ling the men to take a taxi to her home and gain entry.

They stole £200 cash and a television and games console before taking her car and driving it to Stone, Staffordshire, where it ran out of fuel and all were arrested.
