Pair due in court over attempted murder case
Friday 22nd January 2010, 11:29AM GMT.
Two people were due to appear before magistrates in Telford today charged with attempted murder.
Detectives said the 38-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were charged last night.
It follows an incident at an address in James Close, Trench, just before 10.30am on Wednesday, in which a man suffered pellet wounds to his left arm.
The incident resulted in police receiving a call from a concerned member of the public.
Acting Detective Inspector Billy Scott, for Telford Police, who is leading the investigation, today said: “I can confirm that a 38-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were last night charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident in Trench.
“They will be appearing before Telford Magistrates Court this morning.”
Mr Scott added that police were appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“I’d like to stress that we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has suspicions about what might have occurred and why,” he said.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have information about the weapon that was used in this incident, or where we may be able to find the weapon now.
“Anyone with information that might help our investigation is asked to call police in Telford on 0300 333 3000.”
Alternatively, witnesses can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 if they have any information they would like to pass on without identifying themselves, added Mr Scott.
