Pair quizzed over shooting

Thursday 21st January 2010, 12:00PM GMT.

Detectives were today continuing to question a man and woman on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting at a house in Telford.

The pair, a man in his late 30s and a woman in her late 20s, were arrested in Donnington yesterday afternoon and taken to Malinsgate police station in Telford.

The arrests followed an incident in James Close, Trench, at about 10.30am yesterday in which a man suffered pellet wounds to one arm. Police were alerted by a member of the public who reported hearing a gunshot from the house.

The injured man was taken to Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital for treatment but discharged himself later.

Acting Detective Inspector Billy Scott, from Telford CID, said: “I’d like to stress that we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has suspicions about what might have occurred and why.”

The area around the house in James Close was sealed off following the incident.
