Ellis wings back to Drayton

Winger Stuart Ellis has become the third former player to return to Market Drayton Town after quitting Hednesford.
Drayton’s maiden season in the UniBond League division one south was thrown into turmoil when manager Simon Line move to Zamaertto Southern League side Hednesford – taking five players with him.
Two of those five, defenders Paul McMullen and Gary Anslow, returned to Greenfields over Christmas. And Ellis has now followed suit following Line’s shock resignation from Keys Park earlier in the week.
“I’ve spoken to Stuart and he wants to come back,” said Drayton chief Andy Pryce. “He’s still got a few niggly injuries but he’ll be back as a Drayton player as soon as he’s fit.”
Defender Grant Goodhead and midfielder James Carvey are now the only remaining Drayton defectors still with the Pitmen. Goodhead has established himself as a regular, but Carvey was not in the squad of 16 for Hednesford’s FA Trophy defeat at Oxford City on Tuesday evening.
