When the Olympic flame came to town
Thursday 21st January 2010, 7:00AM GMT.
People stand in Coteau Street waiting for the torch to arrive
The Olympic Torch really did bring the whole of Moose Jaw together and it also made people think about, and feel part of, the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Now when the people of Moose Jaw watch the opening ceremony in Vancouver on February 12 they will be able to remember their own special celebration.
And Moose Javians have another – smaller – torch relay to look forward to on February 14.
This year Moose Jaw hosts the Saskatchewan Winter Games and eight people in the town will be picked to carry the torch around Moose Jaw.
The games are for provincial athletes to take part in a multi-sport event in preparation for a higher level of competition.
Watching the Olympic Flame was a very inspiring experience, and is something everyone in the UK should look forward to when the Olympics comes to our country in 2012.
