County school closures — 13/01/10

Shropshire Council has announced that the following schools will be closed today.
Secondary schools closed
- Lacon Childe School, Cleobury Mortimer
- Bridgnorth Endowed is closing immediately
- Oldbury Wells School is closing immediately
- Thomas Adams School, Wem is set to close at 12:15pm
Additional information
- Bishop’s Castle Community College is open for the sixth formers only, who are taking exams, but there is no transport.
- Bridgnorth Endowed closing at 10.45. Examinations are going ahead. Buses are collecting children. – Any who cannot get home are being cared for in the Library.
- Church Stretton Secondary School (open for the Year 11s, if it is safe for them to come in, so that they can do their English exam at 1pm).
- The Corbet School will close at 12:00pm
- Lakelands secondary school will be closing at 12 pm noon today.

- Barrow CE Primary is closing at 12 noon.
- Bitterley Primary is open but there is no transport and children need to bring a packed lunch. Parents need to be contactable in case the school closes early.
- Claverley CE Primary will be closing at 12.30 pm
- Condover CE Primary is open but children may be collected from 1 pm onwards, at parents’ discretion.
- Hinstock Primary will be closing at 1 pm
- Norbury Primary is opening at 9.30am. Buses will only be running on main roads.
- Norton in Hales CE Controlled Primary will be closing at 12 noon.
- Kinnerley CE Primary, Oswestry, closing at 12.30 pm
- Longden preschool is closed until Monday 18 January
- Morville CE Primary will be closing at 12.30 pm today.
- Weston Rhyn Primary is OPEN but the the nursery is closed.
- Whixall CE Primary is closing at 1 pm.
- Rhyn Park Primary is closing at 11am.
- St Andrew’s CE Primary, Nescliffe closing at 12.30 pm
- Stoke on Term Primary will be closing at lunch time.
- St Leonards CE Primary, Bridgnorth will be closing at 12.30
- St Mary’s Albrighton is closing at lunch time.

Private schools
- Adcote School is open but have asked us to advise that buses will be leaving the school early this afternoon, at 4.10pm.
Telford & Wrekin
- The Sir Alexander Fleming Primary School in Sutton Hill is closed
- Wrockwardine Wood Arts College – not opening until 10am
- Mount Gilbert – key stage 4 only closed due to staff unable to get in
- Transport – Bus unable to get into Ellardine and Rowton affect pick up children to Charlton
- Haughton School is planning to close at 12:30pm
- Bridge School in Hadley was closing at 11am
- Southall School was closing at 12.30pm
- Madeley Nursery is closing after lunch.
Horsehay Village Golf Centre is also closed
