A video containing messages of support for the victims of the Shrewsbury blast has been recorded by friends.

The recording was made in Shrewsbury’s Square yesterday and will be sent to Scott Godbold, Sam Devine-Turner, Annie Davies and Sarah Pearse, who were all in the first floor flat which collapsed in the explosion.

Friends of the four hope they will be able to watch the video as they recover at Birmingham’s Selly Oak Hospital, where they are being treated for burns.

About 25 people turned out to record the messages and sign get well cards.

Colborn Norfolk, one of the organisers, said: “We’ve contacted anyone we can on Facebook and through texts to tell them to come on down to do a video message.

“We want them to know we miss them and as they can’t have visitors we want them to know we care.

“Sam’s brother is updating us on how she is as much as he can but this is something they can watch in their own time when they feel up to it.”

Another friend, Rob Bibby, said: “A work colleague of mine who doesn’t know anyone involved in the explosion has offered to help me do a video.”

A Facebook group set up to send messages of support to Annie Davies has 1,965 members. A similar group set up for the other three has 2,234 members.
