Bucks face tough workout
Friday 1st January 2010, 10:30AM GMT.
AFC Telford United will be put through their paces at the start of 2010 with a series of gruelling training sessions over the next two weeks.
The Bucks were due to travel to Stafford Rangers today for a New Year’s Day derby at Marston Road.
But they are not in Blue Square North action again until a week on Tuesday, when Vauxhall Motors will be the visitors to the New Bucks Head for a re-arranged fixture.
Telford had been due to host Gainsborough a week tomorrow, but that fixture has been postponed because the Lincolnshire side have FA Trophy commitments that day which take precedence.
“We’re disappointed we couldn’t organise a game for next Saturday, but we just have to get on with it,” said AFC Telford’s assistant manager Larry Chambers.
“It does give us a chance to get together and have a couple of hard training sessions, and we’ll look to make the most of that.”
The Gainsborough game will now be played on Tuesday, February 9 instead.
A third game has also been re-arranged, with the away clash at Northwich Victoria set for Tuesday, February 23.
That game had been scheduled for the last Saturday before Christmas but was called off due to a frozen pitch.
