Cyclist dies in car collision

Tuesday 29th December 2009, 1:00PM GMT.

A cyclist has died following a collision with a car near a Shropshire village.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened on the B4386, about a mile and a half outside Yockleton, near Shrewsbury, on Boxing Day.

The cyclist, believed to be an 18-year-old man, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
