Shoppers in Shropshire and Mid Wales were today hitting high streets, shopping centres and supermarkets to snap up some last-minute stocking fillers despite the county being hit by its first real snow of the festive season.
Up to five inches of snow covered some areas of the region, with most other areas including Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury experiencing one to two inches.

Is that Ellesmeres’ Christmas tree?

What a pity you have spoilt your Boxing Day coverage by once again giving publicity to people that only gather together to show off and tell people the hunting law does not suit them & still want to kill animals directly! I for one, will not be buying your newspaper until you stop giving these truly awful people coverage! Obviously there are lots of children following – they think galloping around the countryside great fun (it is!) but they do not understand what they are really doing. Those who say the hunts are all following ‘trails’ are mis-informed – there are many hunts carrying on as they did before – the police are doing little to keep the law and ‘spys’ for the antis have to give alot of video evidence to support their findings – quite difficult to filmn when hiding a camera on a horse – some are trying though and hopefully will succeed! Shame on you – a ‘common people’s newspaper’ supporting those that are only trying to rally people to support their barbaric sport! Why don’t they go on fun rides and raise money for charity instead? Any money they raise they put it towards keeping their hounds and horses – they do not care about any others – unless it is of course for publicity!
