Letter: Bad move, Barclays

Thursday 24th December 2009, 5:00AM GMT.

CashpointLetter: Barclays has plans to take away the cash machine in Albrighton.

They claim that anyone needing cash can use either Perton or Codsall machines.

How are we to access these if we have to rely on bus services?

There is no direct link to either of these places. Why are we treated like this.

It’s not just the cash machine, it’s the whole branch there too unfortunately. I thought it was a fairly well used machine, so worth keeping on.

MJ Bolton > What do you think Barclays is?

A public service? A community benefactor? A business with a charitable heart? An organisation that really cares about you and the way they treat you as they forge ahead with their strategy to make a profit?

ATMs are bad for banks – they dish out your money, but the banks would prefer it if it stayed in their hands. This is simply a logical move – if people can’t take their cash out, there’s more for the banks to lend to people who will never be able to pay it back.

It’s Christmas – you should be more charitable to the banks.

Again a business run for the convenience of the staff and directors, ignoring the most important person, the customer. Just take your business somewhere else and when companys start losing money they may get the message.

Typical of barclays, I agree with Rodney N’s statement, making money is Barclays priority, they issue business credit cards then when used decline the loan originally agreed, total entrapment, and your unable to repay the credit card much to their delight and your continued expense.
We are forced to use banks to receive salary, pay bills etc, WHY?
