Big crowd warming to Bucks
Wednesday 23rd December 2009, 12:35PM GMT.
AFC Telford United are targeting a bumper 2,5000 crowd for their Boxing Day derby with Stafford Rangers, writes JAMES GARRISON.
Bucks officials today revealed they were confident the game would beat the cold snap currently gripping the country.
And they are hopeful their supporters will turn out in force for what is traditionally one of the biggest days on the footballing calender.
“The forecast is for it to warm up and we are confident we can get the game on,” said chairman Lee Carter.
“There is an area at the Frank Nagington End where the sun doesn’t get which is a bit hard but we are confident.
“There seems to be lot of interest in the game and I think 2,500 is achieveable.
“It’s a chance for the players to throw down a marker for the second half of the season.”
