The thermometer shows just how cold it gets in Canada

Snow is a rather non-event here in Canada, writes Shropshire expat Rebecca Lawrence. The snow fell a few weeks ago and now it is here to stay.

Nobody talks about it very much and I’ve not even seen many children playing in it. Snow is what happens in winter just as the sun shines in the summer.

When the snow fell, it happened quickly. At 5 pm on November 30 a few flakes began to fall; by 7pm there was about a foot of snow and the temperature plummeted.
