The camp in Norway

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in a Norwegian adventure has arisen for a young physically-disabled person in south Shropshire.

Ludlow Rotary Club is appealing for suitable candidates aged between 18 and 28 to get in touch ahead of the trip next year.

On offer is the chance to participate in a summer camp being held at Haraldvanger, in Norway, between July 25 and August 7.

The package includes the attendance of an accompanying able-bodied friend of similar age to assist with travel and stay in Norway.

“Travel and the full board stay at the camp is entirely free for both the disabled person and his or her able-bodied friend,” said Dick Doyle, chairman of the Rotary Club of Ludlow’s Youth Opportunities Committee.

“They need take only pocket money and suitable clothing,” he added.

The camp is open to both international and Norwegian participants, with English as the spoken language.

It is staffed by professional instructors, all well experienced in working with and the special needs of disabled people.
