Drayton’s duo U-turn leaves Line behind
Friday 18th December 2009, 1:18PM GMT.
The remarkable roller-coaster season of Market Drayton Town today enjoyed a major peak – with two players returning from Hednesford.
Defensive duo Paul McMullen and Gary Anslow are both back at Greenfields after less than three weeks with former Drayton boss Simon Line at Hednesford.
The pair were instrumental in Drayton completing a Midland Alliance league and cup double, and making a strong start to the UniBond League division one south campaign.
“It’s such a boost for the club,” said manager Andy Pryce. “The rest of the players don’t know the news yet so when they read it in the Shropshire Star tonight, they will get such a lift ahead of a massive game at Chasetown tomorrow.
“They weren’t enjoying it at Hednesford and wanted to come back and I think that says a lot for the two lads and the fact that Drayton is such a friendly and welcoming club.”
