County man dies in road smash

A Shropshire man in his 60s has died after the moped he was riding was involved in a smash with an articulated lorry in Cheshire.
The man, who has not been named but who police say is from the Whitchurch area, died at the scene of the crash on the A41 at No Mans Heath near Malpas.
Despite their best efforts, paramedics and firefighters could not save the man and he was pronounced dead shortly after the smash, which happened at about 10.20am today.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours.
