Bucks’ crunch time

Friday 18th December 2009, 1:03PM GMT.

Lee Carter“It’s time for the talking to stop and the action to begin” – that’s the message from AFC Telford United chairman Lee Carter ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Northwich.

The Bucks suffered a massive setback on Tuesday when a poor display saw them slip to a 3-1 Blue Square North defeat at Redditch.

And it means Telford will be desperate for a reaction when they make the short trip to Cheshire.

“It’s all about focus now,” said Carter.

“Everyone knows what needs to be done and we have to get out there and do it.

“There are not any more words myself, the manager or anyone else associated with the club can say.

“It’s up to the 11 players on the pitch to perform.

“Each member of the squad is here for a reason and have been selected to play for this club.

“We have got three England ‘C’ internationals (Sean Newton, Andy Brown and Lee Vaughan), a captain who has played more than 300 Football League games (Stuart Whitehead) and a goalkeeper who played 68 games last season and was the best goalkeeper in this division (Ryan Young).

“That’s just an example of what a bloody good squad we have got and it’s up to the players to go out and perform.

“It will come good.”
