Runaway tyre shock

Stunned onlookers had to do a double take when they spotted a huge tyre hurtling down a Bridgnorth road towards them.
The tyre, believed to have fallen off a lorry or other large vehicle, was spotted rolling down Ludlow Road at speed just after 1.30pm yesterday before smashing into a parked red Ford Ka and coming to rest by the Westgate council buildings.
The parked car suffered bumper damage but Constable Michelle Morris, who is investigating the incident, said it could have caused a serious accident or injury and she is keen to hear from anyone who can help identify the vehicle involved.
