White Christmas ‘is a possibility’
Tuesday 15th December 2009, 12:05PM GMT.
Forecasters are predicting a “better than evens” chance of a white Christmas in parts of Britain as snow showers look set to hit by the end of the week.
Shropshire Star weatherman John Warner said there was a “60 per cent chance” of a white Christmas in the county as the cold weather looked set to stretch into next week.
He said: “Thursday is going to be very cold and there is a chance of snow showers, though I don’t think we are going to get a great deal of snow. It will get icy on Wednesday and Thursday night as temperatures could fall as low as -4 C .
“The cold weather is set to continue right through to Christmas Day so there is, I would say, around a 60 per cent chance of a white Christmas at the moment. It’s a better than evens chance.”
Meanwhile West Mercia Police is urging motorists not to leave their vehicles running and unattended as they defrost them to avoid the risk of opportunist theft.

not a chance. As soon as John Warner predicts it, we know it will be a mini heatwave, with Turkey on the bbq.
