O’Sullivan puts best foot forward
Thursday 10th December 2009, 10:02AM GMT.
Snooker’s top attraction Ronnie O’Sullivan is in the running in Shropshire – in more ways than one.
The crowd-pleaser remains the favourite to lift the UK Championship at Telford’s International Centre and was taking on Mark Selby in a best-of-17-frame quarter-final today.
But he took a break from the baize on a day off yesterday to put his best foot forward in Shrewsbury.
Keen runner O’Sullivan joined Shropshire’s leading athlete Chris Davies in the county town to purchase a new pair of trainers from sports shop Up & Running, which is owned by Mo Hill of Bomere Heath.
Telford Athletic Club’s Davies and O’Sullivan, who have formed a close friendship since the UK Championship first came to Telford three years ago, then headed to Haughmond Hill for a run.
Now O’Sullivan is hoping to put his best foot forward to stay ahead of his rivals and land the top prize on Sunday night.
