Man injured in collision

A 90-year-old pedestrian has been taken to hospital with a head injury after being in collision with a car on a road in Telford.

The man, who has not been named, was injured in the collision near the Salvation Army office, in Oakengates, at 10.25am today.

An ambulance and an emergency care practitioner were called to the scene and the road was closed for more than an hour.

Chris Kowalik, from West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “A 90-year-old man had a cut to his head following a collision with a car.

“The man was taken to Princess Royal Hospital for further assessment.”
