New Army con ‘victims’

Wednesday 9th December 2009, 10:42AM GMT.

More people have come forward in Shropshire who have been approached by a conman posing as an Army officer to trick them out of cash by asking them to give money for a soldier’s coffin.

Wearing a beret and camouflage clothing, the man is thought to be behind several recent incidents in Trench, Telford.

Today Chris Ammonds, of Telford police, said: “We have received information from other people who may have been visited by the man or who claim they have spotted him.”
