Horse and rider in road collapse

A horse and its rider were injured when a road collapsed underneath them in Mid Wales.
The road, from Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant to the waterfall, gave way as Jean Gow, from Llanrhaeadr, rode her thoroughbred over it. They both suffered knee injuries.
Powys County Council is investigating the cause.
