Charity fayre is sweet for Julia
Tuesday 8th December 2009, 10:55AM GMT.
Shropshire businesses are coming together for a charity Christmas Fair with Carols in aid of World Vision and Cancer Research.
Taking place at St Julian’s Church just off the High Street between 6.30pm and 8.30pm on 9 December, the event will feature a number of Shropshire’s best kept secrets offering gorgeous gifts and delicious sweets.
The idea is the brainchild of two Shropshire women, Julia Wenlock from Toot Sweets on Butcher Row, and Heather Noble who runs events company Salt Solutions based in Gobowen.
Julia has agreed to walk up Kilimanjaro next year to raise money for World Vision and Cancer Research and has set herself the task of raising £10,000, with the event on 9 December just one of the activities she has planned to reach her target.
Amongst the businesses supporting the event will be The Nice Cream Company, Nellies Patch, Pigs in Clover, Arbonne and Fareground.
Singers from the newly formed Shropshire Youth Choir will be providing the musical accompaniment with a range of carols which guests are invited to join in with should they wish.
There’ll also be the chance to sample mulled wine and chocolates and a charity raffle is also planned.
For more details of the event please contact Julia at Toot Sweets on 01743 245191.
