Big guns do battle in Telford

Snooker’s two ultimate legends go head-to-head in one of the ties of the first round at the UK Championship in Shropshire tomorrow.
Seven times world champion Stephen Hendry takes on Steve Davis, who was successful at the Crucible on six occasions.
The meeting of two of the sport’s most enduring figures is sure to be a major attraction to the crowds flocking to Telford’s International Centre for day two of the tournament.
The pair get their best-of-17 frames meeting underway at 1pm, with the concluding session beginning at 7pm.
Amongst the other stars in action tomorrow are current world champion John Higgins, who takes on Ricky Walden, and rising ace Judd Trump who comes up against the experienced Peter Ebdon.
Crowd favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan enters the tournament on Monday afternoon when he takes on Matthew Stevens, conqueror of Shropshire’s Adrian Gunnell in the qualifiers.
Tickets remain available for all early stage matches.
Tomorrow’s order of play:
1pm: Mark Allen v Stephen Lee, Peter Ebdon v Judd Trump, Stephen Hendry v Steve Davis, John Higgins v Ricky Walden.
Not before 3pm: Joe Perry v Stuart Bingham, Mark Selby v Jamie Cope, Ryan Day v Liang Wenbo, Neil Robertson v Tom Ford.
Not before 7pm: Allen v Lee, Ebdon v Trump, Hendry v Davis, Higgins v Walden (all to a conclusion).
Monday’s early action:
1.30pm: Ding Junhui v Mike Dunn, Ali Carter v Rory McLeod, Marco Fu v Peter Lines, Ronnie O’Sullivan v Matthew Stevens.
