Shrewsbury Town have completed their new youth backroom coaching team by appointing Wayne Evans as centre of excellence manager.
Evans, who had spells with Walsall, Rochdale, Kidderminster and Welshpool in his playing career as a defender, will work alongside head of youth David Hughes.
The 38-year-old has recently been coaching in Canada.
“Wayne is an excellent appointment with local knowledge and experience in the game and is fully qualified,” said Hughes.
“It bolsters the set-up and allows us to help guide the youth policy in the way that we want.
“Together we will be looking to get the structure beneath the youth team right to try and ensure that we are the first port of call in Shropshire for any talented youngsters.”
