Man hurt in attack

A 25-year-old man suffered a suspected fractured skull after being attacked in Telford town centre.

The victim, who has not been named, was knocked to the ground by a mystery assailant in the incident in Central Square.

He suffered cuts to his right hand in addition to the head injury but he was allowed home after treatment in hospital.

Chris Ammonds, of Telford police, said circumstances surrounding the attack, which happened at about 2.25am on Sunday were unclear.
