He was an "actor's actor" and a true gentleman. I wrote him a letter many years ago and received a long letter in return where he discussed his play projects and his war memories. It was a lovely letter that I still have, along with an autographed photo. He was truly a man of dignity, distinction, courage and compassion. He will be missed. God Bless him. By curious coincidence, his Disney version of Robin Hood arrived on a DVD in the post the previous day, and so watching it was especially poignant. A fine actor and gentleman.
