We’re still in a recession, but a quick look at Shropshire’s bustling high streets suggest shoppers are undeterred.
Perhaps it’s because shops are doing more to encourage us by dropping their prices and luring us in with seasonal offers, or perhaps consumers are simply throwing caution to the wind and getting into the festive spirit.
So our big question today is – will you be penny pinching or splurging this Christmas, and why?

I had all my Christmas shopping done before November, and the only time I set foot in an actual shop was when I bought some cards and wrapping paper from a stationers – everything else was done on the internet and on the cheap (with internet prices often cheaper than even the biggest discounts offered in the shops)

we have doen the same all of ours so far has been online apart from a few little stocking fillers we have seen while on a dayout or food shopping.

We are having a spend, we are coming over from Australia to see family and finally the Aussy dollar is quite strong. So planning to come over with small bags and stock up over xmas..Hopefully we can bring over some sunshine too!

Of course the shops are desperate for our business now – the vat goes back up 1st Jan just in time for the sales!
