Time to deliver, claims Simpson
Tuesday 1st December 2009, 1:25PM GMT.
Shrewsbury Town tonight begin a double header against a pair of League Two’s promotion favourites, with manager Paul Simpson declaring: “It’s time for us to produce”.
Town face a demanding week with the visit of third-placed Rotherham before heading to leaders Bournemouth on Saturday.
Shrewsbury enter the busy five-day programme in ninth place in League Two, eight points behind the automatic promotion positions and one off the last play-off place.
Churning out
And Simpson is aware his side must start churning out victories after just one success in their last eight League matches.
“We have competed well against other top teams but there is no point talking about it – we have to produce it,” he said. “We are not a million miles away from where we want to be.
“These are two fantastic games to look forward to and hopefully we can perform to the levels we are capable of.”
