Art student projects work on to landmarks

A Shropshire art student who specialises in photography made a trip down to London to project some of his photos on to landmarks around the capital.

Jack Moolark, 20, who lives in Rushbury near Church Stretton, and is studying a degree in fine art at Cardiff University, made the journey on November 20.

He and a friend, George Cole, projected examples of their own photography on to several buildings including Harrods, the Tate Modern and The White Cube.

Mr Moolark said: “There’s just so much imagery everywhere, it’s difficult to break through and have an impact. I’m interested in advertising and mass media, anything that is high visibility.

“I’m really interested in the press and the role they play and I’ve been in contact with the press as part of my work, as part of being an artist.”

He has always been interested in art and started his degree working in painting but changed media to photography. He said: “Times have changed from painting to photography so I thought I should too.”

He said he and Mr Cole often worked together to help bring the costs of their projects down and because it was good to have a variety of creative input into projects.
