Woman hurt in collision

Monday 30th November 2009, 11:43AM GMT.

An elderly pedestrian was taken to hospital after she was in collision with a car in Shrewsbury.

The incident happened at about 9.45am today in Coton Hill.

The woman was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with head injuries.

Richard Ewells, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said police were called by ambulance crews to the scene and the road was closed during the incident.

Witnessess are asked to call Shrewsbury police on 0300 333 3000.
