Farsley Celtic 3 AFC Telford 1

Sunday 29th November 2009, 3:46PM GMT.

Bucks_logo1AFC Telford United dropped to 11th in the Blue Square North after slipping to a disappointing defeat away at Farsley Celtic.

The Bucks gave debuts to new signings Sean Evans, Damian Reeves and Andre Gray, but were made to pay for a poor defensive display.

They fell behind in the ninth minute, when Lee Ellington fired in, but were back on level terms on 25 minutes after an incredible own goal by Piotr Skiba, the Farsley keeper throwing the ball into his own net.

Gareth Grant scored twice in less than two minutes around the hour mark as Farsley earned a deserved win.

Reeves had a late penalty saved by Dave Syers, an outfield player who had gone in goal just before half-time when Skiba suffered a facial injury.

Live in Yorkshire these days so usually only see Bucks when they play up this end but I was there on Sat. and this really was the worst defensive display I have seen in the 62 years I have supported teams based at The Bucks Head, on one occasion no less than 5 defenders watched as a Farsley playes waltzed past them. Never mind the play offs , we are only 4 points away from relegation !
