Fire breaks out in pub

Saturday 28th November 2009, 10:25AM GMT.

A man was affected by smoke after a fire broke out at a Shropshire pub in the early hours of today.

Firefighters were called to the Severn Apprentice pub, in Coton Hill, Shrewsbury, just after 1am after a fire started on the ground floor of the building.

One person was initially unaccounted for at the scene, but he was later found, having left the pub before the fire service arrived.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it attended but did not need to take anybody to hospital.
