AFC Telford United have wrapped up their third signing in the space of 24 hours – as fans favourite Danny Edwards was sent out on loan.

Alfreton striker Damian Reeves has signed for the Bucks in time to join fellow new recruits Andre Gray and Sean Evans in the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Farsley Celtic.

Gray has signed on loan from Shrewsbury Town for a month, while Evans has completed the switch from Stourbridge.

But Edwards will drop out of the Bucks reckoning for the time being as he contemplates a loan move to another non-League club in the West Midlands.

“Danny is going out on loan and is considering today whether to go to Halesowen or Hednesford,” said manager Rob Smith. “Danny’s argument will be that he hasn’t had enough chances. For me, when he has had the chance, it hasn’t happened for him.

“We have agreed for Danny to go out for a month, play some football and get his confidence up.”

Smith, meanwhile, is delighted with the three attacking signings Telford have made after pursuing all three players before Tuesday’s FA Trophy replay defeat to Stalybridge Celtic.

“We have been waiting long enough for the goals to come and, for whatever reason, it hasn’t happened,” added Smith.

“The defence is fine but something had to be done about the lack of goals.

“We tried to sign Damian in the summer but it didn’t happen because we couldn’t afford him.

“His circumstances have changed and I’m delighted to have got him.

“Damian is a top striker – he’s a good finisher and will work his socks off.

“With Andre and Sean coming in as well I’m much more confident we have got goals in the side.”

Smith and assistant manager Larry Chambers are demanding a reaction tomorrow after the miserable Trophy replay performance in midweek.

“I still believe that we can get to the play-offs but we need three points tomorrow,” Smith added.

But top scorer Andy Brown continues to be sidelined through injury.
