Struggling Bridgnorth Town aim to put daylight between themselves and the foot of the Midland Alliance tomorrow.

Andy Marlowe’s side are four points clear of second from bottom Highgate who are the visitors to Crown Meadow.

And the manager is under no illusions over the importance of the clash.

“It’s a real six pointer,” said Marlowe. “I expect it to be quite cagey because neither side will want to lose but we want to give ourselves breathing space between us and the bottom and this is a good opportunity.”

The departures of defender David Andrewartha and Ash Burd to Market Drayton means a start for left-sided player Danny Kibblewhite, while Marlowe is working on bringing in a loan signing to fill the right back void.

But Bridgnorth are boosted by the return of key midfielder Jason Pike and leading scorer Gareth Horler.

Lowly Shifnal face a daunting trip to sixth place Stratford – but manager John Wilson insists three points is the aim.

“We have been positive all season and that won’t change,” said WIlson.

“Draws aren’t going to do us much good – we need wins if we are going to pull clear.”

Striker Danny Walne and full-back Joe Salt are both out of tomorrow’s game, but defensive midfielder Lee Coonan – who is based at RAF Cosford – is available.

Wilson is hoping to agree a deal to take striker Seb Hamilton from Romulus in time for the game, while midfielder Mark Perry has signed from Wrockwardine Wood.
