County River Severn flood warnings

Flood warnings were in place this morning on several stretches of the River Severn in Shropshire.

  • River Severn at Hampton Loade & Highley
  • River Severn at Quatford
  • River Severn at Shrewsbury
  • River Severn from Buildwas to Coalport, including Ironbridge, Jackfield and Coalport

The River Severn at Bridgnorth is on flood watch.

Flood defences were erected at The Wharfage, Ironbridge, yesterday afternoon and diversions were in place for traffic.

In Shrewsbury, St Julian Friars car park has reopened, but Frankwell Main and Frankwell Riverside car parks are closed.

    Frankwell car park should be renamed “Frankwell car and boat park” and make money by letting people park their boats there when it floods.
