County flood alert latest

Shropshire has been taken off flood alert but remains on flood watch, the Environment Agency says.

The situation in the region is as follows:

Upper Dee Valley from Llanuwchllyn to Llangollen

In Shropshire, the River Severn has dropped a little, though levels are expected to rise again with more rain predicted over the next couple of days.

In Shrewsbury, Sydney Avenue, in Castlefields, remained closed. Frankwell Main and Frankwell Riverside car parks remained closed and the flood barrier defences are expected to stay up until further notice.

Other closures include Chilton Farm Lane, in Atcham; Gravel Hill Lane, near the West Mid Showground, in Shrewsbury; and Severnside to Wellmeadow footpath in Bridgnorth.
