The scene of the collision between two lorries in Leighton this morning
A council road sweeper and a skip lorry collided in Spoke Lane, Leighton, near Shrewsbury, today, blocking the road completely. A tow-truck with a crane attached was called to remove the skip lorry.
A Leighton resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I was walking by the Kinnersley Arms pub just by Spoke Lane when I saw the Shropshire Council road sweeping van go down the lane.
“The next thing I know there’s a banging noise and the sweeper is up on a bank at the side of the lane in what looked a precarious position and the skip lorry is wedged in there stuck below on the lane.
