It’s over and out for cricketing stalwarts
Tuesday 17th November 2009, 6:30PM GMT.

Flashback to 1949 and the opening of the new scorebox at St Georges. Club stalwart Stan Higgins can be seen during his playing days in the first XI squad, second from left in the front row. The scorebox is now at Lilleshall Cricket Club.
“I’ve loved every single minute of it and I just felt it was time for a change,” said Higgins.
“Paul has got some good ideas so it will be good for him to drive the club forward.”
The tireless work of Higgins has also been acknowledged regionally – he has been nominated along with four others for the unsung hero category at the BBC Midlands Sports Personality of the Year awards which will be held in Birmingham on December 1.
Price, meanwhile has stepped down as treasurer after 31 years in the role. He is moving away from the area and the position will be filled by Chris Cousins.
Chris Miller has been elected as captain following Matt Tilt’s decision to end his four-year stint as skipper at the end of last season.
Joe Turner and Kevin Myatt continue as second and third XI captains respectively while Dom Musgrove and Mike Ross will look after the fourth XI.
The other officers are:
Disabled cricket representatives: Phil Dawson and Ian Halford.
Chairman of Junior Cricket: Mike Waldron.
Sunday captain: Mark Taylor.
Fixtures Secretary: Jim Heath.
