The boys are getting in on the act as the Shropshire Star launches the search for the county’s Face of the Future for 2010.

The girls have had it their own way for too long, and now a call has gone out to all males to prove that Shropshire has an abundance of masculine modelling potential.

The hunt is on for both a future Lily Cole or Erin O’Connor and a male who believes they have what it takes to win over fans on the catwalk.

Up for grabs is the title of the new Face of the Future and a chance to launch a modelling career.

Next month ten finalists — five women and five men — will take part in a glamorous eveningwear photoshoot, and the pictures, with a profile of each finalist, will appear in the Shropshire Star during the Christmas holidays.

Our winners will be unveiled on New Year’s Day.

The competition will seek out those who have the confidence, personality and sense of style to carry out a number of personal appearances and modelling assignments at Telford Shopping Centre over the next year.

They will officially open the Telford Wedding Exhibition in January and will each win a £150 New Year spending spree at the centre.

Those who wish to enter should be aged over 16, live in the county and must be available on Wednesday, December 16 for the eveningwear photoshoot.

Girls bidding for the title must tell us why they would make the perfect candidate to replace last year’s winner Jodie Jones as the new Face of the Future, and the men must tell us why they should be the first male to clinch the title.

“We’re delighted to once again be partnering with the Shropshire Star to launch the search for our next Face of the Future,” said Tracy Hadley, marketing and events manager at Telford Shopping Centre.

“This is the fourth year of the competition and we are especially excited to be welcoming entries from the lads for the first time.

“We felt it high time the handsome men of Shropshire were given the opportunity to stand alongside the beautiful ladies and compete for honours.”
