Crowd flocks to town’s Real Deal TV event

Leslie Price, from Sundorne, is filmed with David Dickinson.
Showbiz antiques expert David Dickinson came to Shrewsbury to film a TV show and offer residents a chance to haggle over their treasures.
Dickinson’s Real Deal was filmed on Saturday with county people invited to come along and have their objects valued before deciding whether to flog them or take a chance in the auction.
The presenter was on hand to root out some bargain deals for residents while filming for his hit ITV1 show.
He was carrying out filming at the £10 million complex Shrewsbury Sports Village, in Sundorne, for four episodes of his show which are due to be aired next year.
The event ran from 9am to 5pm with owners of some of the most impressive antiques asked to appear on the show.
Mr Dickinson gives people a chance to make money by selling antiques and collectibles to the show’s dealers for cash.
The show also gives people a chance to take their treasures to auction to see if they can clinch a better deal.
Last time the show was in Shrewsbury dealers paid £110 for a Troika vase which had been gathering dust in the loft for years, and one lucky person sold war medals at auction for £1,050.
