Doubts over club future after closure

One of Shropshire’s biggest nightclubs has been temporarily closed, police licensing bosses said today.
The owners of Liquid and Diva in Shrewsbury are assessing whether it is commercially viable for them to remain open, according to police.
Nobody from the club nor its owners, Luminar Leisure, were available for comment when they were contacted yesterday and today.
The police say they have been informed about the closure along with the licensing department at Shropshire Council.
Liquid and Diva, in Raven Meadows, closed about two weeks ago, according to the police licensing department.
Tony Mantle, licensing officer for West Mercia Police, said the club had closed, with owners set to make a decision on its future next year.
He said: “It’s been closed for two or three weeks. Luminar Leisure took a commercial decision because of trading.
“Under the circumstances they were trading under it’s not viable for them to continue so they’re closed for a period of time.
“They intend to review the decision in the spring.”

Good riddance. Awful clubs with zero atmosphere. Reopen them as one decent sized venue rather than 2 poxy little clubs. Make it over 25′s only to keep the kiddies out and don’t be silly with prices. That’s how to get a decent turn out!
