Big day heartache for ex-Buck Danks
Saturday 7th November 2009, 11:27AM GMT.
Former AFC Telford United forward Mark Danks is facing FA Cup heartbreak tomorrow.
Danks is part of the Northwich Victoria squad looking forward to tomorrow’s televised first round tie against League One Charlton.
But the striker, who was named Blue Square North player of the month for October, will miss one of the biggest games of his career as he is suspended following a straight red card in his team’s 2-2 at Stafford Rangers last week.
* The draw for the second round of the Cup will be made straight after the Northwich v Charlton clash at 3.35pm by ex-Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and England striker Tony Woodcock and world boxing champion Carl Froch.
Shrewsbury will be ball No 27 should they overcome Staines Town, while AFC Telford United will be No 5 if they are still in the hat after this afternoon’s visit of Lincoln.
