A Shropshire student has died in a 60ft fall from a cliff near his Scottish university.

The 19-year-old was with friends when he fell from the cliff in St Andrews at 1.30am today.

It is believed the student, who has not been named, was taking a shortcut to a beach part when he fell.

A Fife police spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and a report would be prepared for the procurator fiscal.
