Shops move a ‘success’
Thursday 5th November 2009, 10:00AM GMT.
Demolition of a row of shops in a troubled part of Shrewsbury was claimed today to have helped to cut anti-social behaviour.
The scheme to regenerate Moston Road in Sundorne has seen the number of incidents cut by more than 30 per cent compared to the same time last year.
Sue Groom, neighbourhood and community services director for Severnside Housing, which is behind the £2.7 million scheme, said the shops had become a focal point for youths to gather.
