Afghan policeman kills five British soldiers

Five British soldiers have been killed by a rogue Afghan policeman, British and Afghan officials said today.
The policeman turned on them and started firing inside a military compound.
The soldiers, three from the Grenadier Guards and two from the Royal Military Police, died in the Nad-e’Ali district of Helmand Province yesterday afternoon.
Their families have been informed.

I’m sure that they must now be at a stage where recruitment in to the Afghan police is more controlled,so that ‘rogue’ officers cannot hide amongst them. Is it noted however that no Afghan police were among the dead.Why?

Whilst I am deeply upset at this incident and feel greatly for the families who have lost their boys, calls to pull out of Afghanistan now are inappropriate – to pull out now would mean those mens lives had really been wasted and would be as good as giving the Taliban to go ahead and run the country in their murderous ways – it is hard and at times seems pointless but we must keep fighting and supporting our Armed Forces to show murdering terrorists that we and any other civilised country will not run out by such pigs.
