Revellers flee fire at home

Revellers were forced to flee a house party in Shropshire after a blaze broke out.
The fire started in the early hours of Saturday at a house in Stebbings, Sutton Hill in Telford.
Caroline Smith was hosting a Halloween party for friends and family at the time. She said: “One of my friends came running in and said there was a fire in the hall.
“I thought he was joking, I thought he was having a laugh, but then we heard pops and bangs and it sounded like fireworks were going off. It was all a bit of a panic.”
Miss Smith said the partygoers fled via the back door because flames were shooting out at the front of the property.
“In the end we just got everybody away from the house and waited for the fire brigade to come but I was just hysterical, panicking and running around,” she said.
Watch Manager Neil Maguire, from Tweedale fire station, said the fire broke out in an internal electrical cupboard. He said the cupboard was severely damaged and fire and smoke damage was caused to the property.
