AFC Telford 1 Workington 0
Saturday 31st October 2009, 10:47PM GMT.
AFC Telford United left it late as midfielder Phil Trainer popped up to score the winning goal two minutes from time.
That was just reward for the Bucks, who had created a string of opportunities to open the scoring in this game.
Gavin Cowan thought he had scored with a header off Sean Newton’s corner on 13 minutess but the referee mystifyingly ruled that the ball had not crossed the line.
Danny Carey-Bertram and Andy Brown both had chances to put the hosts in front, but it was Trainer who pounced after Brown’s header had been saved by keeper Tony Caig.
It was only Telford’s second home league win of the season.
